qv10 qvCover Boy

As an artist, and musician, qvCover Model Alex Tapia is an extraordinarily talented individual. The 29-year-old Mexican-American artist was born and raised in Los Angeles where he was inspired by his uncle to paint and draw. "It was kind of a friendly competition with my uncle," Alex says. My uncle would say, 'I can draw better that you,' and I'd be, 'I bet you can't!'"

Today, Alex draws his inspiration from artists such as Titian, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Rossetti, and especially Frida Kahlo. Alex says that he's also inspired by all the individuals shown in the painting he has drawn exclusively for qvMagazine, which you can see below.

Musically, Alex composes music with a new age style. His musical inspirations include Dead Can Dance, Enya and a lot of Celtic and African music. But Alex says, "Classical is what I'm really into right nowespecially the Renaissance. I think the Renaissance is my favorite period, although the Baroque is amazing as well."

Alex holds up his most-cherished painting.

Alex's goal for the future is to continue creating his art. "I want to keep on painting," he says. "I will never give up painting." Alex also looks forward to finishing up college and landing an interesting job as a graphic designer-particularly in the movie industry. In addition, he want to continue strengthening his relationship with his partner of four years, Dino, and maybe even become a father.

In the meantime, Alex is keeping himself busy by finishing up a few of his pieces. Once that is done, he will be putting together a public show of his work.
